Aguaceros con tormenta en el Pacífico Central y Sur esta tarde, arribo de OT#40

Diagnóstico: Factores locales aunados a la actividad de la Zona de Convergencia Intertropical generan condiciones inestables en la atmósfera sobre el país. Además, la Onda Tropical #40 se posiciona sobre Panamá y estará arribando a Costa Rica para el final de esta tarde y periodo nocturno.
Pronóstico: Para esta tarde se esperan aguaceros aislados con tormenta eléctrica en las regiones del Pacífico, oeste y norte del Valle Central, además de las montañas del Caribe y la Zona Norte. En el Caso de las regiones del Pacífico los aguaceros pueden ser muy fuertes de manera localizada, especialmente en las montañas del Pacífico Central y Sur. Se estiman montos máximos entre 50-90 mm. Para el Valle Central y montañas del Caribe y Zona Norte los montos se estiman entre 20-50 mm.
La onda tropical #40 ingresará al país al final de la tarde e inicio de la noche lo que estará favoreciendo a incrementar la cobertura nubosa en las regiones del Caribe, además de lluvias dispersas. Esta onda está arrastrando una masa de aire húmedo que va a contribuir para reforzar las precipitaciones del día martes también.
Advertencia: Especial atención en las regiones del Pacífico Central y Sur debido a que son los sectores donde se esperan las lluvias más intensas.
Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:
- Precaución por saturación de alcantarillado en lugares propensos a este tipo de inundaciones.
- Prevención ante tormenta eléctrica y buscar refugio en un sitio seguro en caso de presentarse o de percibir fuertes ráfagas de viento cerca de las nubes de tormenta, debido a la posible caída de ramas de árboles, tendido eléctrico entre otros. Estas ráfagas pueden alcanzar entre 80 a 100km/h en algunos casos aislados.
