Weather Warning

Tropical wave # 8 over Costa Rica this Saturday

19 de junio de 2020
4.30 p.m.

Diagnóstico: La onda tropical #8 se localiza esta tarde sobre Panamá y se desplaza hacia Costa Rica, cruzando el país en el transcurso del sábado. Se espera que esta onda ingrese durante la madrugada del sábado y genere lluvias en diferentes periodos del día en el territorio nacional desde temprano.

Pronóstico: Se pronostican lluvias desde primeras horas del día principalmente en el Caribe Norte y en forma dispersa en el Caribe Sur y la Zona Norte. Por la tarde, se prevén aguaceros con tormenta eléctrica tanto en el Valle Central (concentrados en la Zona de Occidente) como en el Pacífico Central, y en forma dispersa en el Pacífico Sur y el Pacífico Norte.

Existe la posibilidad lluvias en las primeras de la noche en particular en el Caribe Norte y en la costa del Pacífico Central y Pacífico Sur.

Advertencia: Especial atención en las regiones del Caribe Norte, oeste del Valle Central y el Pacífico Central, ya que en estos lugares se esperan los mayores acumulados de lluvias para el sábado.

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Precaución en zonas con vulnerabilidad a inundaciones por saturación de alcantarillado. 
  • Refugiarse en un sitio seguro en caso de escuchar tormenta eléctrica o percibir fuertes ráfagas de viento cerca de las nubes de tormenta, así como precaución por posible caída de ramas de árboles, tendido eléctrico entre otros.
  • Atención en las principales carreteras nacionales, como la ruta 27 y la ruta 32.
