Weather Warning

Thunderstorms and showers this afternoon in the Pacific slope

June 02, 2025
10:30 a.m.

Forecast: High levels of available moisture, along with local factors such as sea breezes and rising temperatures in the early afternoon, will be the ingredients for afternoon rains this early week.

Forecast: Scattered rain and showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected for Monday afternoon on the Pacific coast and in the Central Valley, with expected rainfall amounts between 15 and 45 mm (0.6 to 1.8 in), with peak rainfall between 60 and 80 mm (2.4 to 3.1 in) over a period of 3 to 6 hours. In the Northern Zone and Caribbean mountains, isolated showers with occasional thunderstorms are expected, with rainfall amounts between 10 and 45 mm (0.4 to 1.8 in) over the same periods. Rain may spread to coastal areas of the Pacific in the early evening, especially in the South Pacific and the central-western North Pacific.

Warning: Be aware of the presence of a strong thunderstorm in these regions.

Due to the above, the IMN recommends: • Caution due to sewer saturation in areas prone to this type of flooding.

• Prepare for thunderstorms and seek shelter in a safe place if strong wind gusts occur or are perceived near storm clouds, due to the possible fall of tree branches, power lines, among other things. These gusts can reach 80 km/h in some isolated cases.
