Condiciones lluviosas en el norte del país este martes

7 de setiembre de 2021

Diagnóstico: La cercanía y activación de la Zona de Convergencia Intertropical está creando un ambiente inestable con aguaceros y tormenta eléctrica desde esta mañana en el norte del país, especialmente hacia el sector de Los Chiles, llanuras fronterizas de Heredia y La Cruz en Guanacaste.

Pronóstico:  Se prevé que situación se mantenga hoy ingresando hacia la Zona Norte y Guanacaste. Esta mañana seguirán las lluvias y los aguaceros fuertes con tormenta en el Caribe Norte, Zona Norte y Pacífico Norte. Montos entre 20-60 mm en 6 horas, posibles montos mayores de manera localizada.

Para la tarde y primeras horas de la noche se espera que las lluvias permanezcan en la Zona Norte y Guanacaste y que además se extiendan hacia el Valle Central y Pacífico Central, así como a las montañas del Caribe Sur.  Montos de 20 - 80 mm en periodos de 6 horas.

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Precaución por saturación de alcantarillado y posibles inundaciones repentinas en la Zona Norte, así como en el Caribe, Pacífico, Valle Central.
  • Prevención ante tormenta eléctrica y buscar refugio en un sitio seguro en caso de presentarse o de percibir fuertes ráfagas de viento cerca de las nubes de tormenta, debido a la posible caída de ramas de árboles, tendido eléctrico entre otros.
