Heavy downpours in some parts of the country for today

Diagnosis: During the morning, high temperatures prevailed in most of the country, as a result of the low prevailing cloudiness in various points of the national territory.
Forecast: For this afternoon and early evening, heavy but isolated showers are expected and accompanied by thunderstorms in the Pacific regions, especially in the mountainous areas of the Central and South, as well as in the Golfo Dulce and the Gulf and the Gulf. Nicoya Peninsula. Accumulated rainfall in these sectors is estimated between 30 and 60 mm in periods of 3 to 6 hours.
In the Central Valley, the mountains of the Caribbean and the North Zone are anticipated isolated showers with thunderstorms mainly in the second half of the afternoon and into the early hours of the night. The maximum accumulated in these regions will oscillate between 20-40 mm in periods of 3 to 6 hours.
The coast of the province of Limón and the plains of the North of the country, have very low probabilities of rain for today.
Due to the above, the IMN recommends:
- Caution in areas with vulnerability to flooding due to saturation of sewers, increased flow in rivers and streams and sectors with high propensity to landslide.
- Shelter in a safe place in case of listening to an electrical storm or perceive strong gusts of wind near the storm clouds, as well as caution for possible fall of tree branches, power lines among others.
