Patrón ventoso persiste este sábado

Diagnóstico: Elevados niveles de presión atmosférica sobre la cuenca del Mar Caribe favorecen un fuerte aceleramiento del viento alisio en la región centroamericana. Particularmente sobre Costa Rica se han registrado ráfagas máximas en el orden de 60-100 km/h en Guanacaste (103 km/h Guayabo, 91 km/h volcán Orosi, 80 km/h Sardinal) y entre 45-75 km/h en el Valle Central (50 km/h Cartago, 66 km/h Alajuela, 48 km/h San José, 60 km/h Heredia, 74 km/h Cd. Colón). Además, se registra nubosidad variable con lluvias de débiles a moderadas en el Caribe y Zona Norte con montos entre 3-8 mm en su mayoría y algunos máximos localizados entre 15-25 mm.

 

Pronóstico: A lo largo de este sábado se mantendrá el patrón ventoso en el centro y norte del territorio nacional. Las ráfagas máximas se estiman entre 55-75 km/h para el Valle Central y partes bajas de Guanacaste y entre 80-105 km/h para el norte de Guanacaste y las cordilleras.

 

El Caribe y Zona Norte se espera que mantengan nubosidad variable con lluvias débiles dispersas en lo que resta de la mañana, con tendencia a mejorar progresivamente durante la tarde. Debido a la presencia de una masa de aire seco, no se esperan precipitaciones significativas en el resto del país.

 

Los análisis actuales indican que la intensidad del viento disminuirá paulatinamente a partir del lunes y se estará debilitando para la segunda parte de la semana.

 

Advertencia: Especial atención por ráfagas fuertes en el Valle Central y el Pacífico Norte.

 

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

 

  • Prevención por ráfagas de viento y su posible afectación de techos, cableado eléctrico, rótulos, árboles; así como en las partes montañosas del país y Guanacaste (parques nacionales, volcanes).
  • Precaución en la navegación aérea ante el aumento de la turbulencia, así como en la navegación marítima por aumento de mar picado, especialmente en el Pacífico Norte, Golfo de Nicoya y norte del Pacífico Central.
  • Evitar quemas de todo tipo, ya que se pueden salir de control.
