Frente frío #4 en el norte de Costa Rica esta mañana

Diagnóstico: El frente frío #4 se ubica sobre el norte de Costa Rica esta mañana, provocando nubosidad sobre la Zona Norte y Caribe Norte costarricenses, las lluvias han sido débiles y aisladas con acumulados entre 10-26 mm, localizadas en la Zona Norte principalmente. Los vientos máximos de esta mañana han alcanzado 95 km/h en el Pacífico Norte y 80 km/h en el oeste del Valle Central.  

Pronóstico: Se espera que el frente frío empiece a alejarse de nuestro país en el transcurso del medio día. Los vientos fuertes también tienden a la disminución hacia el periodo vespertino, se prevén máximos entre 50-75 km/h en el Valle Central y entre 65-85 km/h en el Pacífico Norte, con ráfagas fuertes de menor frecuencia.

Durante lo que resta de esta mañana de domingo las lluvias serán dispersas y débiles en la Zona Norte, con montos menores a 15 mm. En las montañas del Valle Central y Pacífico Norte habrá lloviznas en el periodo matutino y disminuirán en primeras horas de la tarde. En cuanto a las temperaturas se espera calentamiento moderado en el este del Valle Central, con máximos entre 24°C a 26°C en sectores como Cartago, San José y zonas montañosas de Heredia.

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Extremar las precauciones por vientos fuertes y su posible afectación de techos, cableado eléctrico, rótulos, árboles; así como en las partes montañosas del país (parques nacionales, volcanes).
  • Precaución para las embarcaciones por mar picado y muy fuerte oleaje en el Pacífico Norte, Golfo de Nicoya, el Mar Caribe, así como a la navegación aérea por turbulencia sobre los sectores montañosos.
  • Evitar quemas de todo tipo ya que pueden salirse de control.
