Continúan condiciones ventosas en el país durante todo el día

16 de enero de 2020

Diagnóstico: la presencia de un sistema de alta presión en el Atlántico ha generado un incremento de los vientos alisios en toda la región Centroamericana desde hace varios días. Las ráfagas más intensas que se perciben el día de hoy se ubican en Guanacaste con máximas de 90 km/h y de 85 km/h en los sectores montañosos del país, en el Valle Central las ráfagas máximas son de 70 km/h. 

Pronóstico: en las próximas horas se mantendrán condiciones de vientos moderados a fuertes con máximas de hasta 95 km/h en Guanacaste, por otro lado, en el Valle Central y montañas de la cordillera central se presentarán vientos moderados con ráfagas máximas de 75 km/h.

Se prevén muy pocas lluvias asociadas a este evento, sin embargo, se tendrán lloviznas en el Caribe y Zona Norte, particularmente en las partes altas. Se prevén montos entre 5-25 mm. En el resto del país no se prevén precipitaciones durante este día.

 Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

 

  • Extremar las precauciones por vientos fuertes y su posible afectación de techos, cableado eléctrico, rótulos, árboles; así como en las partes montañosas del país (parques nacionales, volcanes).
  • Precaución para las embarcaciones por mar picado y muy fuerte oleaje en el Pacífico Norte, Golfo de Nicoya, Pacífico Central y el mar Caribe, así como a la navegación aérea por turbulencia sobre los sectores montañosos.
  • Evitar quemas de todo tipo ya que pueden salirse de control.
