Rainy Monday in Costa Rica
july 14th, 2019.
Diagnosis: The Intertropical Convergence Zone will be over Costa Rica from this night, generating rainfall in the early morning hours in the national territory. Forecast: There will be rains of weak to moderate intensity in the South Pacific and the Central Pacific, estimating amounts between 10-20mm during the night. This Monday, rains are forecast from dawn and in the early hours of the morning both in the North Zone and in the Caribbean; with occasional rain raids in the Central Valley. There is a high possibility of rain in the early hours of the day in the South Pacific. In the afternoon, the most important rains will be concentrated in the Pacific Slope and the west of the Central Valley, extending them in the early hours of the night in the aforementioned places. Due to the above, the IMN recommends: • Caution in areas with vulnerability to flooding due to saturation of sewers, increased flow in rivers and streams and sectors with high propensity to landslide. • Shelter in a safe place in case of listening to an electrical storm or perceive strong gusts of wind near the storm clouds, as well as caution for possible fall of tree branches, power lines among others. • Stay informed through Twitter: @IMNCR, Facebook: National Meteorological Institute and the WEB Page: www.imn.ac.cr Juan Diego Naranjo Díaz Meteorologist DMSA-IMN
