Return to the typical conditions of rainy season

Discussion: The Intertropical Convergence Zone has retreated to the north over waters of the Pacific Ocean; Therefore, the country has gradually returned to the typical conditions of the rainy season. The rains decreased significantly in the afternoon and evening of this Wednesday over the country; those accumulated in the last 12 hours are less than 15 mm.
Forecast: On the morning of this Thursday, partial cloud cover will be maintained in most of the national territory and temperatures will be warm. For the afternoon and early evening hours, an isolated rainy activity accompanied by a thunderstorm is foreseen in the Pacific, Central Valley, North Zone and the Caribbean mountains, amounts are estimated between 20-40 mm and above in a localized manner.
Due to the above, the IMN recommends:
- Caution in areas with vulnerability to flooding due to sewer saturation, increased flow in rivers and streams, as well as sectors prone to landslides due to the saturation of soils generated by the rains of recent days.
- Shelter in a safe place in case of listening to thunderstorm or perceive strong gusts of wind near storm clouds, as well as caution for possible fall of tree branches, power lines among others.
