Weather Warning

Sahara dust intrusion into the country this week

June 24, 2020
10.50 a.m.

Discussion: On this Wednesday the country is immersed in a large mass of dust from the Sahara that has moved over the Caribbean Sea.

Forecast: The presence of dust will be perceived during this Wednesday and variation of its particulate is estimated in the rest of the week, with the highest concentration expected on Friday. This situation can generate reduced visibility and more isolated rainfall in the east and north of the country.

The IMN will continue to duly monitor this phenomenon and update this information daily.
