Weather Warning
Condiciones lluviosas en este jueves
June 04, 2020
10.20 a.m.
Discussion: This Thursday the very unstable atmospheric conditions continue over the country and surroundings, added to the constant contribution of humidity from the Pacific Ocean to the national territory, are factors that enhance the occurrence of rainfall of variable intensity.
Forecast: Around noon and during the afternoon, showers of varying intensity and heavy showers with an electrical storm are expected in the Pacific, Central Valley, North Zone and mountainous sectors of the Caribbean. Cumulative estimates are between 40-80 mm in the Pacific, 15-60 mm in the Central Valley, the Northern Zone and mountains of the Caribbean, ranges between 25-70 mm.
During the first part of the night period, rains and showers will be maintained in the North and Pacific Zone, to a lesser extent in the Central Valley and mountainous sectors of the Caribbean. In addition, fog banks are possible in the Metropolitan Area.
Warning: Special attention in these regions since they show high potential for intense rainy activity on this day: North, north of Guanacaste, mountains of the Caribbean and east of the Central Valley.
Due to the above, the IMN recommends:
- Caution in areas with vulnerability to floods, even more so in sectors with recent rainy activity.
- Take refuge in a safe place in case of listening to a thunderstorm or perceiving strong gusts of wind near storm clouds, as well as caution for possible falling tree branches, power lines, among others.
