Rainy conditions in the afternoon and evening

Discussion: The Intertropical Convergence Zone is very active and close to the national territory, generating a very unstable environment, at the same time favoring the presence of cloudiness and the occurrence of rain on this Monday.

Forecast: During the rest of the morning the cloudiness will increase in the country, especially in the mountainous sectors.

In the afternoon and early evening, showers of varying intensity and showers with an electrical storm are expected in the Central and South Pacific, as well as in the Nicoya Peninsula, amounts between 30-60 mm. On the other hand, in the Central Valley, the north of Guanacaste and the mountains of the Caribbean - North Zone, isolated rains and showers are expected, accumulated between 10-30 mm.

Due to the above, the IMN recommends:

• Caution in areas vulnerable to flooding due to sewer saturation.
• Take refuge in a safe place in case of listening to a thunderstorm or perceiving strong gusts of wind near storm clouds, as well as caution for possible falling tree branches, power lines, among others.
