Discussion: Tropical wave # 5 has entered the country, it is in the eastern sector of it. This phenomenon will be spreading the rains that have manifested themselves this afternoon in various parts of the country. During said afternoon period, heavy rains have occurred in the North Zone, Guanacaste, north of the Central Valley, mountainous sectors of the Caribbean and Central-South Pacific. The highest accumulations have been recorded in Sarapiquí with maximums of 85 mm, 44 mm in Liberia, Laguna Fraijanes 84 mm, Cerro Burío 43 mm, among others.

Forecast: In the hours of the night the rains of variable intensity will continue and showers with thunderstorms in the North Zone, North Pacific and Central Valley, amounts between 40-60 mm are estimated, larger accumulations are possible in a timely manner. For its part, in the Caribbean, Central and South Pacific, light to moderate rains are expected, with accumulations between 25-50 mm.

During Saturday morning the effects of the tropical wave will continue; therefore, variable partial to total cloud cover is expected with possible rainfall in mainly Pacific coastal areas.

Warning: Special attention on the coast of the Gulf of Papagayo, Tempisque Valley, Sarapiquí and surroundings, Osa Peninsula.

Due to the above, the IMN recommends:
