Aviso Meteorológico

Persiste la condición lluviosa este martes en el país

19 de mayo de 2020

Diagnóstico: Un sistema de baja presión perteneciente a la Zona de Convergencia Intertropical está frente a la costa del Pacífico costarricense este martes, aportando humedad a nuestro territorio y precipitaciones de variable intensidad a la península de Nicoya, así como una capa de nubosidad en el centro y sur del país.

Pronóstico:  Se estima que este sistema de baja presión perteneciente a la Zona de Convergencia Intertropical se mantenga el día de hoy cercano al territorio nacional, el mismo tenderá a moverse sobre la zona marítima hacia el norte del territorio nacional durante miércoles y jueves, manteniendo así el patrón lluvioso en el país.

Para esta tarde se esperan lluvias y aguaceros fuertes con tormenta en la vertiente del Pacífico y Zona Norte con montos entre 40-70 mm. Para el Valle Central y montañas del Caribe se esperan precipitaciones con acumulados entre 20-50 mm en 3 a 6 horas.

Durante la noche, la actividad lluviosa se mantendrá en las primeras horas en la Zona Norte y sectores costeros del Pacífico Central, Pacífico Sur y península de Nicoya, con acumulados de 10 a 25 mm entre periodos de 3 a 6 horas.

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Precaución en zonas con vulnerabilidad a inundaciones por saturación de alcantarillado, aumento de caudal en ríos y quebradas, además en sectores propensos a deslizamientos.
  • Prevención en rutas nacionales como: ruta 1, ruta 10, ruta 27, ruta 21, ruta 32, ruta 34, ruta 141 y ruta 126.
  • Refugiarse en un sitio seguro en caso de escuchar tormenta eléctrica o percibir fuertes ráfagas de viento cerca de las nubes de tormenta, así como precaución por posible caída de ramas de árboles, tendido eléctrico entre otros.
