Tropical wave # 53 will transit the country this Friday

Discussion: A new tropical wave (# 53) is located at this time between Panama and Colombia, as usual in these atmospheric disturbances, it is heading west and will be arriving in the country this Friday afternoon.

Forecast: It is expected that the Intertropical Convergence Zone together with the passage of this tropical wave, are reinforcing the afternoon rainy activity, generating moderate and heavy rains during this period mainly along the Pacific Slope and North Zone.

Warning: Special attention due to the South Pacific and North Zone, due to high levels between 80% and 90% of soil saturation.

Due to the above, the IMN recommends:

• Caution in areas vulnerable to flooding due to sewer saturation.
• Take shelter in a safe place in case of hearing an electrical storm or perceive strong gusts of wind near the storm clouds, as well as caution against possible falling tree branches, power lines, among others.
