Rainy activity this day over the country

Discussion: The trade winds prevail accelerated this day; They are especially perceived in the north and center of the country, the highest speeds are around 50-78 km / h. The windy pattern has caused the incursion of cloudiness and rains in regions of the Caribbean and the North Zone with amounts between 10-30 mm.

Forecast: The trade winds will continue with speeds between moderate and strong, with greater perception in the Central Valley and North Pacific, gusts are estimated between 5-80 km / h.

Regarding rainfall; In the Northern Zone and the Caribbean, scattered rains and showers with thunderstorms will be maintained for much of this day. Estimates are between 25-50 mm.

In the Central and South Pacific, local factors such as evaporation and morning temperatures will favor the presence of heavy rain and heavy showers with thunderstorms with accumulations of 30-60 mm during the afternoon and early evening hours. For its part, scattered rains are possible in the Central Valley, especially in mountainous sectors, amounts between 10-20 mm.

Warning: Special attention in the regions of the North Zone and mountains of the Caribbean since they show important levels of saturation.

Due to the above, the IMN recommends:

• Caution in areas vulnerable to flooding due to sewerage saturation.
• Take refuge in a safe place in case of listening to a thunderstorm or perceiving strong gusts of wind near storm clouds, as well as caution for possible falling tree branches, power lines, among others.
• Attention on the main national highways, such as route 27 and route 32.
