Zona de Convergencia Intertropical activa y cercana al país

Diagnóstico: La Zona de Convergencia Intertropical se encuentra activa y cercana al país desde este lunes, lo cual ha ocasionado que se presenten lluvias en la península de Nicoya desde esta mañana y aguaceros en el Pacífico Central y Sur esta tarde, así como una condición bochornosa, nublada con aguaceros dispersos en el Valle Central.

Pronóstico: Se anticipa que la Zona de Convergencia Intertropical siga activa y se posicione aún más cercana a la vertiente del Pacífico costarricense esta noche y mañana martes, por lo cual existe alta probabilidad de que se sigan generando lluvias y aguaceros en el sur del territorio nacional esta noche y que se extiendan las lluvias al Pacífico Central, península de Nicoya e incluso al sur y oeste del Valle Central este martes en la madrugada y la mañana.  Se esperan montos de lluvia entre 10-45 mm en el Pacífico y 5-20 mm en el Valle Central en periodos de 12 horas.  

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Precaución en zonas con vulnerabilidad a inundaciones por saturación de alcantarillado, aumento de caudal en ríos y quebradas, además en sectores propensos a deslizamientos.
  • Refugiarse en un sitio seguro en caso de escuchar tormenta eléctrica o percibir fuertes ráfagas de viento cerca de las nubes de tormenta, así como precaución por posible caída de ramas de árboles, tendido eléctrico entre otros.
  • Precaución a los conductores por reducción la visibilidad y carreteras mojadas.
