Aviso Meteorológico
Fuertes lluvias durante este martes favorecidas por onda tropical #23
28 de julio de 2020
09:00 am
Diagnosis: The proximity of the Intertropical Convergence Zone, the warm morning temperatures and the passage of tropical wave # 23 has been favoring rainy conditions in the Caribbean and Northern Zone. The amounts of rain that have been recorded are between 15-30 mm in 3 hours.
Forecast: During the morning the intermittent rains will continue in the Caribbean and North Zone, with amounts between 10-20 mm in 3 hours.
In the afternoon there will be rains of variable intensity, heavy showers with thunderstorms in the Pacific, North Zone, Central Valley regions; accumulated from 30-80 mm. In the Caribbean, rains are expected in the mountainous sectors with accumulated between 10-30 mm.
The precipitations will extend to the first hours of the night in the Pacific, as well as in the North Zone with amounts between 10-30 mm. In the Central Valley and mountains of the Caribbean, scattered weak rains are possible, accumulated 5-15 mm.
Warning: Considerable soil saturation is maintained in sectors of the North and South Pacific, as well as in the North Zone; therefore, special attention is requested due to the high possibility of landslides.
Due to the above, the IMN recommends:
Caution in areas vulnerable to flooding due to increased flow in rivers and streams.
Take refuge in a safe place in case of listening to an electrical storm or perceiving strong gusts of wind near storm clouds, as well as caution for possible falling tree branches, power lines, among others.
