Actividad lluviosa en esta tarde y noche

Diagnóstico: La Zona de Convergencia Intertropical se encuentra activa sobre el país. Esto favorece un panorama húmedo e inestable, idóneo para la presencia de nubosidad y la ocurrencia de precipitaciones y tormenta eléctrica en el periodo vespertino y nocturno.

Pronóstico: Para esta tarde y primeras horas de la noche se prevén lluvias de variable intensidad y aguaceros con tormenta eléctrica.

La actividad lluviosa con tormenta más fuerte se desarrollará en el Pacífico, especialmente en Pacífico Central y Sur, la Península de Nicoya y Valle del Tempisque; se estiman montos entre 30-75 mm en lapsos de 6 horas, son posibles acumulados superiores de manera puntual. Se esperan aguaceros y lluvias variables en la costa del Pacífico Central y península de Nicoya durante la noche.

Además, no se descarta la posibilidad de lluvias variables en el Valle Central, montañas de la Zona Norte y Caribe en el transcurso del periodo vespertino con montos entre 10 a 50 mm.

Advertencia: Debido a las lluvias de los últimos días los suelos muestran saturación alta, entre 85%-95% en el Pacífico Central y Sur; situación que incrementa el riesgo a inundaciones repentinas y/o deslizamientos.

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Precaución por saturación de alcantarillado en lugares propensos a este tipo de inundaciones.
  • Prevención ante tormenta eléctrica y buscar refugio en un sitio seguro en caso de presentarse o de percibir fuertes ráfagas de viento cerca de las nubes de tormenta, debido a la posible caída de ramas de árboles, tendido eléctrico, entre otros. Estas ráfagas pueden alcanzar 80 km/h en algunos casos aislados.
