A gradual decrease in Eta's influence is expected, the strengthening of the system will be favoring a lesser impact in Costa Rica. On the other hand, on Saturday there will be a significant decrease in the impact of Eta on the country.

Warning: Special attention due to the saturation of soils in the Pacific Slope regions, particularly in the cantons of La Cruz, Nandayure, Nicoya, Liberia, Bagaces, Carrillo and Hojancha in the North Pacific and in the Central Pacific Parrita and Aguirre. Attention to the area of ??Los Santos and Garabito due to the risk of landslides. In the Desamparados area, north of Barva and Varablanca, as well as on Route 32 in the case of Central Valley.

Due to the above, the IMN recommends:

  • Caution in areas vulnerable to flooding due to sewerage saturation and increased flow in rivers and streams.
  • Take shelter in a safe place in case of hearing an electrical storm or perceive strong gusts of wind near the storm clouds, as well as caution against possible falling tree branches, power lines, among others.
